A Little bit About Nicole

Nicole began riding in 2008 and started her competitive journey shortly after, the following year. As a Colorado native, her introduction to horse showing naturally began in the hunter/jumper and equitation rings, although her focus quickly shifted to three day eventing. Subsequently in 2010 she began learning the ropes of eventing and has been dedicated to it ever since, with a passion for understanding and improving her dressage.

In 2012 Nicole rode in her first USEA recognized event on a horse she developed herself, under her trainer’s guidance. This fueled her passion for working with green horses and retrains which she began taking on under the supervision of surrounding professionals. Soon after beginning working with retrains/starts, she began teaching riders as a hobby.

Since then her love for the sport has only grown and in 2018 she began teaching professionally. Nicole has been a trainer in several lesson programs across a range of disciplines including hunter/jumper, eventing, dressage, barrel racing and reining, but focuses most of her efforts on excelling in eventing with dreams to compete at international level one day.

Nicole subscribes to the belief that horses come with a lifetime of learning, and prioritizes her own continuing education, which is why she rides in a program with an ICP certified trainer, and dedicates time to keeping up with up to date articles and training theories. Nicole also has a background in natural horsemanship and is passionate about teaching the horsemanship side of things, not just riding.

In 2021 she joined the board of the MSEA-CCC (Mountain States Eventing Association – Central Colorado Chapter) and helps in organizing some of Area IX local events. In 2022 she attended the USEA ICP (United States Eventing Association – Instructor Certification Program) symposium in Ocala, Florida and is slowly working towards her level 1 ICP certification.
